| Treating Trauma
The core of successful psychotherapy involves releasing trauma. Unheard of until roughly the last 15 years, treatments that can unlock the effects of rape, abuse, accidents or even just negative life experience are revolutionizing psychotherapy. Sadly, many therapists are slow to learn these simple new techniques because of their non-traditional nature. Virtually all of these techniques are not cognitive approaches. Instead they target the subconscious through hypnosis or even acupressure. They may appear strange but they work. In fact, in many cases you can feel them work right away.
